Newspaper: Saudi Arabia knows that the Houthis do not seek peace and are maneuvering to gain time
English - Sunday 01 October 2023 الساعة 06:59 pmThe London-based Al-Arab newspaper confirmed that the Houthi terrorist militia is not serious about achieving peace and ending the war in Yemen.
The newspaper said in the context of its report on Sunday that the militias that succeeded in practicing the policy of patience over the years of war are trying to exploit the desire shown by Saudi Arabia to close the Yemeni file, which was evident in its unusual flexibility with the Houthis, whose rhetoric was directed towards the inability to coexist with them, considering them agents of its arch-rival Iran.
The newspaper pointed out that Saudi Arabia knows that the Houthis are not seeking to achieve real peace and that they are maneuvering to gain time and show themselves as a party for peace. Despite this, it wants to pull them into the negotiations box in light of an international movement to end the war.
It is not known to what extent the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia will adhere to restraint, especially in light of the embarrassment it finds from its legitimate allies, and also after the Houthi attack on the coalition forces themselves, and the Bahraini victims it left behind, according to what the newspaper sees.
On Thursday, Bahrain announced the killing of three soldiers from its unit participating in the coalition to support legitimacy near the Saudi border with Yemen, before announcing on Friday evening the death of a fourth soldier as a result of his injury.
Bahrain accused the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, of carrying out drone attacks that claimed their lives.
