أعلن مصدر عسكري السيطرة والتمشيط للمواقع التي كانت تتمركز فيها عناصر تنظيم القاعدة في منطقة جول ريدة في مديرية ميفعة بمحافظة شبوة. وقال إن منتسبي اللوائين الثاني مشاة بحري والثاني مشاة جبلي اليوم ، وبمساندة الطيران سيطروا على المنطقة ، ومقتل خمسة من القاعدة وتدمير ثلاث سيارات تابعة لعناصر القاعدة الكانت إحداها تحمل على متنها رشاش عيار 23 مضاد للطيران وقتل خمسة عناصر وجرح العشرات.. مشيرا الى ان ابطال الجيش يقومون حالياً بملاحقة بقية العناصر التي لاذت بالفرار تجر اذيال الخيبة والخسران . ودعا المصدر المواطنين الى عدم التستر على تلك العناصر الآثمة أو إيوائها أو السماح لها بالتغلغل والتواجد في أوساطهم وبما من شأنه تطهير أرض الوطن من شر ورجس الارهاب. ولم يعلن المصدر عدد قتلى الجيش في المواجهات، فيما قال شهود عيان لنيوزيمن إن قتلى وجرحى وصلوا الى للمستشفى لم يعرف عددهم كانوا على متن أطقم عسكرية.
