Organization: 107 children killed or injured in 70 days in Yemen

SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties said that children were the main victims of human rights violations in Yemen, in  April, May and June of the current Year.

Violations included violation of right to life and physical integrity, arbitrary detention, and enforced disappearance.

In a statement issued on Monday, SAM said that Eid al-Fitr has become a nightmare for the Yemeni children, especially those are living in Taiz, where they live difficult days because their neighborhoods are bombarded indiscriminately by the Houthi artillery and their snipers. Children lost their lives during Eid days which the Eid's joy turned into mourning.

SAM confirmed that during the period from April 1st to June 10th this year, 107 children were identified in Yemen in Sana'a, Taiz, al-Hodeida and al-Dhale' provinces, including 29 were killed or injured by the Arab Coalition airstrikes, 18 in Sana'a city on May 7th  in an Arab Coalition airstrike targeted a residential neighborhood in Rabat Street, central the Capital Sana'a.

The Coalition killed four children in an airstrike that hit a civilian car in al-Dhale' province on May 11th , seven were killed by a Coalition airstrike in al-Suwaida area in Mawiyah district in Taiz province on May 24th.

Sam organization documented the killing and wounding of "51" children in Taiz city in the Houthi shelling.

The Houthi militias killed 20 children, including four killed during Eid al-Fitr days.

Among the total number of the children victims in Taiz city, eight children were killed by Houthi snipers and 27 were injured, and the rest were injured by shrapnel in the indiscriminate Houthi shelling on residential areas.

The Houthi landmines also killed six children and injured nine others on cities of the West Coast of Yemen.

In al-Dhale' province, one child was killed and five others injured by the Houthi militias' shelling. The Houthi shelling displaced thousands of children with their families because of the war in the province.

SAM was informed that the Houthi militias abducted six children of al-Hudhaifi family in al-Husha district on April 27th. SAM sources said the six children were still in detention and their families did knew about their fate since the time of their abduction.

SAM said the behavior of both the Houthi and the Arab Coalition warplanes clearly show that their operations involve serious violations of international humanitarian law and may constitute war crimes.

It called on the international community and human rights organizations to condemn these crimes and show them to the world and take serious and strong positions against the perpetrators.
