Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

In one of the forms of financial extortion practiced by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, the militias decided to impose sums of money on Aqal Al-Harat under the name (the costs of security protection for mosques on Friday).

Local sources in the capital, Sanaa, told NewsYemen: The Houthi militia imposed on Aqal Al-Harat to pay sums of money to the security guards who distribute them to the mosques of the capital on Friday, with the justification of securing mosques and worshipers, noting that these amounts differ from one mosque to another, according to the number of security personnel who  They participate in inspections of worshipers on Friday, as their number increases if the mosque is attended by militia leaders for Friday prayers, which are usually mosques under the control of their preachers.

The sources revealed that this measure came with the aim of covering up the theft of financial allocations to the security committees of the militias at the level of districts and neighborhoods under the name of security protection costs for mosques on Friday.  Assigning them to secure mosques.

The sources indicated that most of those who are distributed to mosques are militia members who take short vacations after their return from the fighting fronts, as they are used on Friday to protect mosques, as the militias say, stressing that some of the neighborhood leaders refused to pay these amounts on the pretext that they do not have financial resources.  To cover them, but the officials of the Houthi security committees in the directorates threatened to change them if they did not commit to paying those amounts.
