Sana'a, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, continues the policy of financial levies in violation of the provisions of the constitution and the laws in force that prevent the imposition or collection of any money or taxes except by a law in force.

In this context, the leaders of the Houthi militias in the General Authority for State Lands and Real Estate continue illegal collection of funds based on a financial regulation unconstitutionally enacted by these militias.

Sources in the authority told NewsYemen that the militia leaders that manage the authority and lands of state real estate collect money on a daily basis and under various names based on the powers granted to them by the illegal financial regulation, and even deliberately impose financial rates that they collect from one property to another.

The House of Representatives, which is under the control of the Houthi militias in Sanaa, took a decision to cancel the financial regulation for supporting the General Authority for State Lands and Real Estate, as it violates the constitution and the law in force, last June, after discussing the report of the Constitutional Committee in Parliament, which concluded that this regulation violates the constitution and laws.

The sources added: The Houthi leaders in the state’s lands and real estate have disregarded the Parliament’s decision and continued financial collection operations in accordance with that unconstitutional and illegal regulation, and insisted that this regulation is a translation of the goals and principles of their revolution and that the decisions of the Parliament (Afash), as they call it, do not concern them and do not concern them.

The sources concluded by saying: The abuse of the Houthi militia leaders with the parliament’s decision regarding the financial regulation violating state lands and real estate confirms that these militias use the parliament under their control to pass and legitimize what serves their directions and goals only, as they are keen to implement any legal amendments submitted and approved by Parliament as long as this serves  its interests, and rejects any decisions issued by Parliament that stand in the way of achieving its material, political or sectarian interests.
