A number of Houthi militia members were killed, early Tuesday morning, by the explosion of a landmine, which the militia had planted earlier, in Al-Dhalea Governorate, southern Yemen.

Field sources told NewsYemen that Houthi elements tried to infiltrate from Wadi Sabira, towards the positions of the southern forces, but they fell into the traps of a mine they planted earlier.

It confirmed the killing of a number of Houthi militants in the mine explosion, without mentioning a numerical statistic, noting that the southern forces, in turn, finished off the survivors of the explosion.

The sources pointed out that the southern forces dealt precise strikes to the Houthi militia while it was trying to infiltrate, and eliminated the rest of the elements, noting that the bodies of the dead were still dumped in Wadi Sabira.

In the context, the Houthi militia resorted to launching indiscriminate bombing of residential areas in the same area, in retaliation for its losses at the hands of the southern forces, according to the sources.
