A gunman was killed and at least four others were injured, as a result of clashes between government forces and an armed gang, this morning, Thursday, in the Bir Pasha area, west of the city of Taiz, central Yemen.
A local source told NewsYemen that clashes erupted between the forces of the Fifth Brigade, the Presidential Guard, and the Issa Al-Agouz gang, at dawn today, Thursday, near the home of the Al-Harq family in the Ammad neighborhood of Bir Pasha district, west of the city of Taiz.
According to the source, the clashes resulted in the killing of one of the old gang members, Maher al-Maqtari, and the injury of four others, two of whom are in serious condition. No casualties were reported in the ranks of the presidential protection.
The information indicates that Issa Abdullah Ali al-Maqtari, known as (Isa the old man), is from the police. He is located in the city of al-Turbah. He entered the city of Taiz at the request of the officer in the presidential guard, Ammar al-Qadi, and is now being pursued inside the city by the security campaign.
It is also noteworthy that Issa Al-Agouz has been involved in criminal cases and incidents since the beginning of the war in the city of Taiz, including the killing of the assistant director of security for the governorate, and the police announced last December that he was wanted for security and a fugitive from justice.
