Aden, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, released a kidnapper arbitrarily, after four years of imprisonment and torture in its prisons in Sana'a.

Abdullah Muhammad Zahra, head of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution Office, which is under the control of the Houthis, in Sanaa, said that "there is no reason to file a criminal case against the kidnapped Anwar Muhammad Abdullah Al-Hazam, due to insufficient evidence."

The head of the Houthi criminal prosecution directed the release of the victim, with a commercial guarantee, four years after his kidnapping and torture, according to an official document.

The Houthi militia had kidnapped Al-Hazam on a trumped-up charge (calling for demonstrations to demand salaries through social media) and hid him in one of its secret prisons, and practiced forms of torture against him for four years.

In this context, a member of the House of Representatives, Abdo Bishr, called for compensating the victim for all those years that killed him and his family, and for punishing those who committed this crime.

Deputy Bishr confirmed, on his Facebook account, that the kidnapping, disappearance and torture of Anwar Al-Hazam for four years is a "crime with no statute of limitations."
