Aden, NewsYemen:

The official spokesman for the Houthi militia, and the head of its negotiating delegation, Muhammad Abdul Salam Falita, seemed confident that the Saudi-Omani rapprochement would not affect what he described as “Oman’s clear and explicit position on the aggression against Yemen,” referring to Muscat’s continued alignment with his group.

Fleita said, in statements published by "Al-Khandaq" website on Saturday, that the Omani mediation "is ongoing and we do not believe that the Saudi-Omani rapprochement can affect Oman's historical and strategic role in the wars and its clear and explicit position on the Yemen war and aggression against it," as he put it.

He believed that "any rapprochement between the two countries will not be at the expense of changing its position and siding with a country that supports wars and the siege," he said.

He said that the Sultanate of Oman has "positive relations with the West and with Iran, and it is characterized by an independent, calm and consistent policy."

While he claimed that Saudi Arabia does not want a political or a humanitarian solution, he said: "The Saudi side, in fact, does not want a political or a humanitarian solution. It is more like a disengagement and the perpetuation of the crisis."

He stressed that "military operations by his group in Ma'rib are continuing on a large scale."

The official spokesman for the Houthi militia considered that the British forces in Mahra are occupying forces and his group has the right to target them.
