Sana'a, NewsYemen:

Awad Aref Al-Zuka, son of the former Secretary-General of the Congress Party, Aref Al-Zuka, called on the political parties opposed to the Iranian Houthi project to unite the republican ranks to restore the Republic of Yemen and to make concessions to each other.

While Al-Zuka affirmed their support for legitimacy "to preserve the country, its security and stability," he stressed the importance of the role of young people at this stage "as they are the hope of the future, their records are still clean, their minds are clean, and they have the ability that no one else has," urging them to intensify their efforts and spread awareness among them and a warning against the bulldozing of an attempt to change the Yemeni identity.

In a remarkable development, Zuka directed what he said was "a clear message to the brothers in the Arab coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," in which he indicated that "Yemen and its people have lived through enough conflicts and wars."

He expressed his hope for Saudi Arabia to "reconsider the management of the Yemeni file, take the right measures, and deal with us as a sister country that the Kingdom has love and appreciation for what it offers to Yemen and its people."

He added: "Therefore, we hope that they will stop all off-target movements, focus their efforts, and deal in full equality with us to combat the Houthi forces of backwardness and ignorance that are implementing the Iranian project, which targets the region in general and the Kingdom in particular."

Al-Zuka stressed their keenness to "success all efforts aimed at restoring the state," and said, "We will be hand in hand to achieve what the steadfast and patient Yemeni people aspire to."

Zuka's speech came in a post on (Facebook) on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the founding of the General People's Congress, which falls on Tuesday 24 August.

Awad Al-Zuka - elected from the Sanaa conference as a member of the General Committee - said that the conference began working to unify its ranks and arrange its papers to return to achieve the hopes and aspirations of its members, supporters and the general population of the Yemeni people, as he put it.

He reassured his party members: "On this great occasion, we assure everyone that the conference, with the efforts of its loyal sons, is working to heal its wounds and overcome the conspiracies that have happened and are happening to it during recent years and extend to the present time."
