Aden, NewsYemen, exclusive:

The Houthi group's attempts to flirt with the people of the south increased and try to cover up its crimes against them during its invasion of the regions and cities of the south in 2015.

The most prominent of these attempts was the recent step taken by the group to release Major General Faisal Rajab, who was captured during the battles that the man led with a number of pro-legitimacy military leaders in Lahj governorate in March 2015, in an attempt to prevent the group's militias from invading the capital, Aden.

The group's launch of Major General Faisal Rajab came in response to the tribal delegation that came from Abyan governorate to Sana'a, with prior coordination with it through Brotherhood leaders present in Muscat. In a step that was apparently aimed at courting the people of the south and its interior, trying to stir up regional strife between them, but it failed to do so.

The appearance of the man after his release, who was suffering from great difficulty in walking on his feet, reminded him of the harsh treatment he received by the Houthi group in its prisons, and how it allowed him to communicate with his family by phone only twice and for limited minutes during the eight years he spent in captivity.

As for the latest Houthi courtship and courtship attempts towards the people of the south, it came from the first commander of the group's militia in its six wars in Saada, and one of its most important military leaders, Abdullah Aida Al-Razami, who appeared for the first time in a television interview with one of the group's channels.

What was remarkable about the dialogue, which lasted for a full hour, was that it devoted its beginning to talking about the south, and about the position of the group's founder, Hussein al-Houthi, in opposing the summer war of 94 AD against the south. When he was a member of the House of Representatives at the time, he claimed that this position was the reason for Al-Houthi's exile to Iran and the subsequent wars against the group in Saada.

Al-Razami made a remarkable statement in the dialogue, in which he considered the need of the Houthi militia for the south in 2015 AD as a "mistake" and claimed that this was a "trick" by former President Ali Abdullah Saleh "in retaliation for our position in the 94 AD war", which he claimed "won great love for Hussein Al-Houthi." in the hearts of the people of the south.

The Houthi group's attempts to court the people of the south and deny its militias' invasion of their areas in 2015 reflects the size of the group's militarily helpless attempt to repeat the experience after the humiliating expulsion of its militias at the hands of the southern resistance 8 years ago.
