Aden, NewsYemen:

An international organization concerned with monitoring conflicts in the world monitored the decline in political violence in Yemen to its lowest level during the month of April, and expected it to continue this month.

According to the Armed Conflict Data Project, last month political violence in Yemen decreased by 30 percent compared to the previous month, and reached its lowest level since the beginning of the war.

He stated that the sharp decline coincided with the visit of the Saudi and Omani teams to Sanaa, amid negotiations to establish peace.

He added that, although no agreement was announced following the visit, signs of a breakthrough followed in the following days, with the completion of the largest exchange of detainees between the two sides of the conflict.

The project indicated that the negotiations focus on reopening Yemeni ports and airports, paying the salaries of civil servants in Houthi-controlled areas, direct talks between the Houthis and the internationally recognized government, and a two-year political transition.

The project, which monitors armed conflict in more than 50 countries around the world, said that the decline in violence related to peace negotiations is likely to continue during the month of May.
