Safer Company: The Houthis prevent the arrival of domestic gas

During the past few days, the cooking gas crisis has escalated in areas controlled by the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen, amid the return of black markets run by Houthi leaders to sell cylinders at double prices to citizens.

That the gas selling agents and neighborhood leaders responsible for distributing domestic gas cylinders in residential neighborhoods refused to distribute their allocations from this article. Noting that the proxies and neighborhood leaders loyal to the Houthi militia justified the occurrence of the crisis under the pretext of the lack of quantity arriving from the Safer Gas Company in Ma'rib Governorate.

On the other hand, black markets for the sale of gas cylinders have reappeared, largely in residential neighborhoods, at prices double the official value. Where Houthi leaders supervise the management of these markets to reap huge amounts of money in light of the continued fabrication of repeated and unjustified crises.

For its part, the Yemeni Gas Company "Safer" responded to the accusations made by the Houthi militia of causing the escalation of the domestic gas crisis in Sana'a and its areas of control.

The company stated, in a statement issued by it, that the total that was loaded from the company in Marib to the governorates under the control of the Houthis during the month of April amounted to 1109 trailers, which is equivalent to 28,338,06 tons, or 2,437,037,16 gas cylinders.

The company revealed the reality of the crisis and the refusal of supplies arriving from Marib Governorate, explaining that the Houthi militia bears responsibility for any shortage of gas in its areas of control, as a result of it holding a number of trailers in the Nehm hypothesis and preventing them from returning to the loading site in Marib.

The company's operations said: "Despite the company's keenness for gas to reach all governorates of the Republic and unload it at filling stations, it was surprised that the Houthi group stopped a number of trailers in Sana'a and Al-Jawf and prevented drivers from moving to Safer to load gas to its areas of control."

The statement added that "Safer", and due to the delay in the arrival of the trailers to the loading site. It issued a circular registering these trailers upon their return from the stations after unloading the quantities according to the receipt voucher and their arrival at the loading site, in order to maintain the stability of the supply situation in this vital material, and to ensure that delays are avoided.
