Houthis pound eastern, southern areas in al-Hodeida
English - Wednesday 16 January 2019 الساعة 10:15 amThe Houthi militias on Tuesday evening bombed the eastern and southern areas in al-Hodeida city, west Yemen.
A field source said that the Houthi militias fired dozens of shells at al-Halqa market, woods sites in conjunction with targeting the CityMax commercial building and Thabit Brothers Compound in Kilo 4 area east the city with dozens of missiles and Katyusha rockets.
The local residents told Newsyemen that the militias fired artillery shells from al-Ansar neighborhood in al-Salakhana in al-Hali district, firing a number of Katyusha rockets inside al-Zahoor neighborhood near the Motherhood and Childhood Hospital, funded by MSF.
He stressed that the Houthi militias mobilized dozens of gunmen in al-Sha'ab Park, the People's Park, in the heart of al-Hodeida city, as well as al-Thawra School, al-Shaimaa Compound, deploying more snipers on houses' roofs in al-Khazan and al-Qemah hotels.
Another source said to Newsyemen that the Houthi militias turned Shamsan Center for Motherhood and Childhood Care into weapons and ammunition warehouses.
The Houthi militias deployed their gunmen in al-Jame'ah, al-Rabsa, Ghulail neighborhoods, in parallel with the firing artillery shells in these neighborhoods towards Mandar village, south al-Hodeida.
Local civilians in al-Za'afaran and al-Makainemah villages said the Houthi militias pounded agricultural farms with dozens of shells since Tuesday afternoon, adding that some projectiles fell in the vicinity of their houses.
