oint Forces repulse Houthi attack in al-Jah, al-Hodeida
English - Thursday 17 January 2019 الساعة 09:44 amViolent clashes broke out between the Joint Resistance Forces and the Houthi militias, the Iranian arm in Yemen in Bait al-Faqih in al-Hodeida province, west Yemen.
A military source said that the Joint Resistance Forces repulsed a Houthi attack in al-Jah district in Bait al-Faqih in al-Hodeida province.
The Houthi militias tried to sneak in areas that would enable them to launch attack on humanitarian conveys' lines, the source said.
The Houthi attack came in coincided with the militias' firing shells on al-Fazah, al-Mateneyah, al-Jabalia villages, west and southwest al-Tuhaita district.
Local sources said to Newsyemen that the Houthi militias returned to fire mortar shells on al-Tuhaita city amid their foiled attempt to attack it.
The sources added that the Houthis shelling with mortars on the city, causing the destruction of a number of houses.
According to field sources, around of 20 of the Houthi militias deployed to Sa'adeyah area, southwest Hais city in a move that suggests that the militias intend to launch an attack on the road linking the districts of al-Khukha and Hais.
