The Civil Media Network condemns the kidnapping of 31 passengers

The Civil Network for Media, Development and Human Rights condemned the attacks and kidnappings carried out by the Yemeni government military forces in Shabwa governorate, June 4, for the travelers and soldiers returning to their businesses and camps in Hadhramaut Governorate, and they are (31) passengers.

The kidnapping took place from the highway, from a military checkpoint set up by these forces in the area (Ain Ba Maabad) Shabwa governorate, according to their identity cards, racially and territorially, and they were taken to an unknown location.

The network denounced this heinous crime, which contravenes the most basic moral and human standards, and condemns the divine laws and domestic and international laws, especially the international human rights law, and the relevant laws and covenants.

 The network held the Yemeni government forces, controlled by the Yemeni Reform Party, fully responsible for the life and safety of travelers and innocent soldiers, and demanded the immediate release of them and enable them to return to their areas of work and camps.

The network warns of the continuing kidnappings and arrests of travelers against regional backgrounds and affiliations, as this poses a real threat to security, civil and social peace and the spread of a culture of hatred.

It calls on international and domestic human rights organizations, civil organizations, and social personalities to condemn this criminal and racist act, to oppose it, to hold accountable and accountable those responsible for it, and not to repeat it.
