Mocha, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The suicide of a displaced person, last Saturday, in Al-Shathli camp in Mocha, shed light on the difficult living conditions and conditions faced by the displaced, despite the presence of about 30 humanitarian organizations.

According to the scarce information that was available, the man committed suicide because he was unable to collect a sum of money as expenses for his wife, who had given birth to twins.

There are more than 2,700 displaced people in Mocha who live in camps whose dwellings are made of tents that do not fit the weather in Mocha.

The repressive methods and crimes committed by the Houthi militia against the population in the areas under its control in the governorates of Taiz and Hodeidah have forced thousands of civilians to flee to the districts of Al-Khokha and Al-Mocha.

However their living conditions have not improved despite the presence of about 30 humanitarian organizations in Mocha alone.

Frequent accusations are directed against international organizations operating in the West Coast of distancing themselves from real programs and squandering their annual budgets in terms of operational items and expenses far from the needs of the displaced and the host community.

Among these aspects is renting cars that exceed their need by thousands of dollars annually, while development programs remain far from their agenda.

With the absence of real control over the work of these organizations, it encouraged them to limit their activities to awareness programs and courses that have no beneficial results, or to small projects at costs that are double their real costs.

A citizen told NewsYemen that a camp for the displaced in Al-Hameli, built by its residents from straw and tree sticks, is suffering from a dire humanitarian situation.

He added that one of the international organizations, all that it has been able to do is build toilets and allocate for every five families one toilet.

He explained, that it is able to build a real camp from the allocations it pays only as annual car wages, as it owns a fleet of 11 Fortuner cars.

He pointed out that the rent for a single car amounts to 3 thousand dollars a month, which is sufficient clarification for several questions about the holes in which the budgets of the organizations are melted and the distance from which they are entitled to real.
