Legitimacy demands "international firmness" to end Iran's blatant interference in Yemen

On Tuesday, the Yemeni government affirmed its total rejection of the Houthi militia, Iran's arm, using Yemen as a platform to manage terrorist operations by launching ballistic missiles, booby-trapped planes, and hijacking commercial ships, which threatens security and stability in the region.

This came in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it welcomed the joint statement of the Ministerial Council between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union on the Yemeni issue.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to take a firm stance to stop these absurd and terrorist behaviors and to end Iran's blatant interference in Yemeni affairs.

It appreciated the keenness of the "brothers in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and friends in the European Union for the security and stability of Yemen, and their concern over the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen as a result of the continuation of the futile Houthi wars."

The statement praised the contributions made to various aspects of support to improve the humanitarian situation in light of the exceptional circumstances Yemen is going through.

He expressed the government's appreciation for the position of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the European Union and their support for all efforts aimed at achieving peace, restoring the state from the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, and reaching a ceasefire.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed its appreciation for supporting the efforts of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union to reach a political solution that ends the conflict in accordance with the three international references and the Saudi initiative for a ceasefire in Yemen.

A meeting of the joint ministerial council between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, held in Brussels, on Monday, stressed the urgent need to improve the humanitarian situation and agree on a ceasefire without preconditions and reach a political solution to the conflict in Yemen.
