Haidan rebels against the finance circular regarding the disbursement of salaries
English - Wednesday 27 September 2023 الساعة 03:00 pmGovernment sources reported that the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, rebelled against the finance circular regarding the banks approved to disburse salaries starting last August.
The sources explained to (NewsYemen) that Major General Haidan refused to comply with the instructions of the Ministry of Finance and the government regarding transferring the salaries of employees of the Ministry and its affiliated departments to one of the seven banks nominated by the Central Bank of Yemen.
The seven banks, according to a Ministry of Finance circular issued early last August, are (the National Bank of Yemen, the Cooperative and Agricultural Credit Bank, Al-Kuraimi Islamic Microfinance Bank, Solidarity Bank, Shamil Bank of Yemen and Bahrain, Al-Qutaybi Islamic Microfinance Bank, and Aden Microfinance Bank).
In its nominations, the Central Bank excluded exchange companies and non-bank money transfers. However, the sources stated that Haidan insisted on disbursing the salaries of the Ministry’s employees through the Enma Exchange Company, which the Ministry of Finance rejected because this company was not among the Central Bank’s nominations and caused a delay in the disbursement of salaries.
Haidan’s insistence on Inmaa Company as a center for receiving the salaries of Interior Ministry employees confirms the suspicions raised about his connection and other Brotherhood leaders in the country to this company and their subcontracting ownership of it.
The sources reported that Haydan's rebellion caused a delay in the payment of the August salary they received on Monday, through Enmaa Company.
