Houthis prevent French organization to work in Ibb

Local sources indicated that the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development -ACTED - suspended its activities in Ibb province, central Yemen after prevented from carrying out its work by the Houthi militias. 

The sources said that ACTED halted its activities, relief aid and humanitarian work in the province for the third month in a row, as a result of differences and harassment by the Houthi militias to prevent them from carrying out activities in Ibb, and in Sana'a and other provinces.

According to the sources, a number of projects that were in progress have been stopped, including the Cash-for- Work, constructing classrooms, restoration of a number of schools, paving roads, protecting water sources, supplying water projects with generators, oil products, as well as several other projects in different districts in the province. 

ACETD is a French organization, established in 1993 and active for years in a number of Yemeni provinces.
