On Friday, gunmen following a contractor working for the Houthi militia kidnapped the son of journalist Rahma Hajira in Sanaa, in retaliation for publishing.

The journalist Rahma Hajira, in a series of posts on her account on Twitter, reported that gunmen led by a man named Malafat Al-Makhrafi, who work for Saqr Al-Khulani, kidnapped her son Najmuddin Al-Bakari and detained him in a private prison in the Beit Boss neighborhood south of the capital.

She stated that the kidnappers worked for Saqr al-Khawlani, a luxury real estate contractor, in Sanaa, which Hajira said was “money laundering”.

She said that the kidnappers held her son in a prison in the neighborhood of Beit Boss without any legal justification, and merely to settle scores, considering this to prove their corruption and barbarity.

In another tweet, "Hajira" accused the militia leader of corruption, and the group was accused of complicity in the kidnapping of her son and said: "If the ruler and the minister were not corrupt and agreed, no officer would have dared imprison a journalist son outside the law."
