Aden, NewsYemen:

The governor of Marib, Sultan Al-Arada, said that the Houthi militia took advantage of Saudi Arabia's withdrawal of its forces from Marib, the UAE's withdrawal of the Patriot air defense system, and bombed the city with ballistic missiles.

This came during his statements at a press conference held via video technology and organized by the "Yemen in International Media" program, affiliated to the Sana'a Center for Studies, stressing that the Houthis have sought to control the governorate since 2015, but they will not be able to do so.

Al-Arada added that had it not been for the coalition warplanes, the matter would have been different, as the coalition fighters made a difference in the battles, after the Houthis showed superiority through heavy and armored vehicles.

He continued: The Houthi group is striving to stop the coalition air operations in any way, allowing it to rearrange its forces and attack again.

He also noted that the tribesmen actively participated in the battles, in addition to the joint forces on the western coast and promised to reinforce the government forces in Marib.

Regarding the Iranian role in the recent battles, Al-Arada accused Iran's ambassador to the Houthis, Hassan Erlo, of his active participation in the war, being a prominent soldier.

He explained that the Houthis do not have the ability to employ warfare techniques in battles by launching drones and ballistic missiles.

He also reported that Martin Griffiths, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, reached a dead end with the Houthi group, and in return they dealt with him with lies and procrastination.
