The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced, on Sunday, the interception and destruction of a "booby-trapped drone" launched by the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - after it took off in the Yemeni airspace towards southern Saudi Arabia.

The spokesman for the Arab Coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed that the coalition forces were able to intercept and destroy an unmanned drone booby trapped in Yemeni airspace.

He added that the Houthi militia launched the marches "in a systematic and deliberate manner to target civilian objects and civilians in the southern region," according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Houthi militia, backed by Iran, has intensified in the last two months the firing of ballistic missiles and drones bombed towards populated civilian areas in southern Saudi Arabia, but the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen succeeded in intercepting and destroying most of them.
