A Houthi campaign to confiscate the new edition of the currency in Al-Rahda and kidnap dealers

Local sources said in the city of Al-Rahada, which is affiliated with the Khadir District, south of Taiz, that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, lunched a campaign by its militants to confiscate the new edition of the currency.

Trade sources added to Newsyemen, that the elements of the Houthi militia raided the shops of citizens in the city of Al-Rahda and confiscated the new edition of the currency.

The sources indicated that militia members attacked the shopkeepers and candy stores, opened fire and forced many merchants to hand over the sums.

It also closed a number of stores under the pretext of dealing with the new edition of the currency.

The militia arrested about 12 shop owners and took them to Al-Saleh prison in Al-Hawban area.
