Aden, NewsYemen:

A local official in Al-Bayda Governorate confirmed that hundreds of families have been living in the open for weeks, under the rain and the heat of the sun, in harsh, tragic conditions, after they were forced to flee due to the violent battles that the governorate witnessed during the past month.

Mosad Al-Salahi, director of the Nata' district, said in a statement carried by the German news agency that more than 800 displaced families from the district live in difficult humanitarian conditions, without shelter, where they are exposed to the sun and rain, which exposes their lives to many dangers.

He added that these families were forced to leave their homes and search for less dangerous places, as a result of the deadly war they experienced last month and the Houthis' continuous siege on the district.

The local official indicated that the Nata' witnessed a large wave of displacement to escape the brutality of the Houthi militia, which carried out reprisals after taking control of the district of Al-Zahir and areas of the districts of Nata' and Numan.
