Abyan, NewsYemen, private:

On Sunday, Ahwar city witnessed a massive march of the city's residents demanding the exit of the military forces led by Louay Al-Zamki, from the district in which they were recently deployed, and it was met with a societal and official rejection.

The demonstration supported the statement of the 111th Infantry Brigade, the statement of the sheikhs, and the statement of the southern resistance demanding the exit of Al-Zamki forces from the Ahwar district, stressing that the concentration of these forces in the district is a violation of the Riyadh Agreement.

The demonstrators demanded the coalition forces and the Presidential Council to expel Al-Zamki's forces, holding them fully responsible in the event that the situation in the district explodes as a result of the presence of these forces.

And last Sunday, the leadership of the so-called joint forces of the Abyan axis, stationed in the city of Shakra, announced the implementation of a plan to redeploy and move forces led by Al-Zamki, the staff of the Abyan axis and the commander of the Third Brigade Presidential Protection towards the city of Ahwar to secure the international line, and claimed that this was based on instructions from the Ministry of Defense.

The so-called joint forces, the Abyan axis, is a military formation that was announced after the expulsion of the legitimate forces loyal to the Brotherhood and General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar from the city of Aden in 2018 by the forces of the Transitional Council.

Most of these forces consist of the presidential protection brigades that were expelled from Aden, led by Brigadier General Sanad Al-Rahwa, commander of the First Brigade, Presidential Protection, in addition to the forces of the Third Brigade led by Al-Zamki and the forces of the Fourth Brigade led by Brigadier General Mahran Al-Qubati.

The former President Hadi, after settling in Aden in 2015, directed his son Nasser to form and lead the presidential protection brigades, and five brigades included 3 of them in Aden (the first, second and fourth), while the second brigade is located in the Al-Ruwaik camp in Marib, led by Brigadier General Abdul Hakim Docom, and led by Brotherhood Brigadier General Adnan Raziq.  Fifth Brigade in Taiz.

Following the expulsion of the three protection brigades from Aden in 2014, they were stationed in Shaqra and represented the spearhead in the Brotherhood and Al-Ahmar plans to storm Aden, and are currently leading a disguised rebellion against the directions of the Presidential Council in unifying military and security formations and implementing the Riyadh Agreement.

Media reports indicated that it rejected an invitation from Council member Abu Zara’a al-Muharrami to meet with her at the Al-Ma’ashiq Palace in late April, after its leaders refused to go to Aden with her escorts and stipulated that she enter Aden with the full number of its military forces, in an apparent attempt to provoke the transitional forces.

The areas of Abyan, which are under the control of these forces, suffer from the spread of intermittent crimes and the increase in the movements of the elements of terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda and their recent targeting of the Southern Giants forces, without any movement by them corresponding to their lack of targeting by terrorist elements, which reinforces the accusations of a relationship of interests between the two parties, the price of which is paid by the governorate and its sons.
