Sana'a, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Informed sources in Sanaa said that the leaders of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, refused to allow a number of international organizations and the United Nations to implement some relief projects related to helping citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

The sources revealed to NewsYemen that the so-called Supreme Council for the Administration of Humanitarian Affairs is under the control of the Houthi militia and whose administration is directly supervised by the Houthi leader Ahmed Hamid, known as (Abu Mahfouz), who is the director of the presidential office in the militia authority. He refused to give any permits to a number of international and international organizations to implement some relief projects related to the month of Ramadan, which would have included distributions of food baskets, cash assistance, and clothes, despite the organizations submitting integrated reports on these projects to the Council more than a month ago.

According to the sources, among the projects that the Houthi Militia Council rejected was also a project on awareness of the dangers of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) and the precautionary measures to prevent it, and ways to deal with it in the event of infection with it, indicating that this project was met with intelligence inquiries by the Houthi leaders who claimed That there are suspicious targets behind seeking to implement it, and that its perpetrators have a hidden agenda to wage a psychological war on the people of Yemeni society and influence the state of popular and military steadfastness of militia fighters on the fronts.

The sources considered that the militias' refusal to implement the Coronavirus awareness project reflects the state of indifference exercised by the Houthi authorities in their areas of control with the dangers of this pandemic, which is spreading in the capital, Sanaa, and the rest of the Houthi-controlled areas in a frightening manner, amid negligence and indifference on one side of the Houthi authorities and insistence on non-recognition The number of deaths and injuries due to the virus, although what citizens publish on social media about deaths and infection with the virus reflects the reality of what the Houthi militias are committing against people as a result of the policy of denial and secrecy with this pandemic.

According to the sources, the Houthi leaders have so far refused to grant any permits to the organizations to implement their projects, imposing many conditions on them, the most prominent of which is the delivery of a financial percentage of allocations for the implementation of those projects to the Council, and another for the so-called Zakat Authority, which may make the militia’s share reach more than fifty percent of The funds allocated for the implementation of these projects, and thus the poor do not benefit from any of those projects from which only crumbs reach the needy.

It is worth noting that many international reports have accused the Houthi militias of looting the relief aid provided by the UN and international organizations on the one hand and diverting it to the benefit of its fighters and members, and on the other hand, placing many obstacles in the way of delivering this aid to the needy and needy.
