Brigadier General Tariq Saleh discusses with the Ambassador of the Netherlands the path of a political solution in Yemen

The Leader of the National Resistance and Head of the Political Bureau, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, discussed with the Dutch Ambassador to Yemen Peter Derrek Hof, the developments in the Yemeni arena, and a number of issues of common concern, Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

During the meeting, which was held via a closed electronic circuit, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh reviewed the conditions for declaring the National Resistance to its political office, and the opportunities for peace in light of the intransigence of the Houthi militias and their continued rejection of political initiatives.

The Leader of the National Resistance also touched on the development, social and humanitarian reality on the West Coast, the roles of the resistance, the local authority and the government of Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik, in this context, and the opportunities for bilateral cooperation with the friendly Kingdom of the Netherlands in these areas.

He explained that the national resistance supports and supports the governmental role and the role of local authorities in the region and in various fields, as well as supports and provides full facilities for international organizations working in the social and humanitarian sectors.

Brigadier General Tariq Saleh emphasized that the announcement of the Political Bureau came in the belief in the importance of developing the performance of the resistance in addition to developing political work in the country in general, away from religious, sectarian and sectarian ideologies, and that a peaceful solution is the only way out of the crisis and war.

The Leader of the National Resistance stressed that a peaceful solution to the crisis in Yemen needs to prove good intentions through a comprehensive ceasefire under international control and the exchange of all prisoners and kidnappers, then the direction of two simultaneous paths for a solution, namely the political and security track, and the choice of a Presidency Council and a technocratic government that runs the state in a transitional period for a period  Two years, then the trend for presidential, parliamentary and local elections.

In this context, he stressed that the first step to proceeding in the path of the solution is the Houthis abandoning the idea of   guardianship and claiming the divine right to rule without the rest of the Yemenis.

In turn, the Dutch ambassador praised the publicity of the Politburo for the National Resistance, and expressed his happiness for the meeting with the Leader of the Resistance, which constituted an opportunity to learn about the various issues related to its political, societal and developmental activities.

The meeting discussed the level of service projects, relief programs and activities carried out by the National Resistance in the directorates of the West Coast.

The meeting also touched on a water project that will be implemented by the Netherlands in cooperation with the French Solidarity Organization, as well as benefiting from the Dutch expertise in the field of wind energy generation, to support a project implemented by the resistance to generate 15 megawatts of power in Mocha.

The projects that the Dutch side intends to implement in the field of mine clearance were also discussed, and the two parties agreed to intensify efforts and establish a partnership to develop and diversify these projects, leading to the completion of their implementation.
