The Governor of Aden inaugurates the payment of compensation to the victims of the Crater events

On Thursday, the governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, inaugurated the payment of compensation to those affected by the recent events in Crater.
This came during his meeting with a number of those affected in the local authority building, in the presence of the Special Compensation Committee.
During the meeting, the governor of Aden expressed his regret over the recent events in the ancient city of Crater, which has known since ancient times the simplicity of its residents and their coexistence within a cohesive social fabric, but some tried to reflect a different image from those characteristics that characterize the residents of this He stressed that the local authority will work hard to restore Crater to its beautiful historical setting, and will take care of restoring its historic streets with the help of all the people of the capital, Aden.
Governor Lamlas continued his speech by saying: “Aden is a city of peace and coexistence, and its security and stability is the responsibility of everyone, and there will be only security forces in Aden concerned with maintaining security, as for other armed manifestations, and crews and vehicles that come from outside Aden, which have nothing to do with Aden. We voted with the citizen's to reject everything that disturbs security and stability."
He addressed the attendees by saying: "Whatever the compensation is, it cannot compensate for the loss of lives that were lost, yet the local authority was keen on reparation and guidance to the highest limit," noting that the monitoring and evaluation process was complementary between the concerned committee, the Public Works and Roads Office, and the General Traffic Department.
The commission in charge had prepared a damage report, in which it monitored the damage of five houses, 41 cars, 12 of which were completely burned, and 29 cars were partially damaged.
For their part, those affected affirmed that safety and stability is the greatest compensation, and that it is a priority for them, praising this step, expressing at the same time their thanks and appreciation to Governor Lamlas and to the committee tasked with monitoring the damages resulting from the Cartier events.
